Review: Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

AatFKIt’s been a while since I’ve really read any chick-lit books. I went through a phase of them, and after a while it got repetitive. However, by participating in the Top 10 Tuesday meme, I’ve noticed this book show up in a LOT of the lists, regardless of the topic for the week! So being that I love anything Parisian, I felt I had to check this young adult (YA) chick-lit book out.

I have to admit, this book is really cute. I can see how people would fall in love with it. Gorgeous setting, charming love interest, all the teen angst that a good YA chick-lit needs. The friendship that develops between the main character and the guy in the story is adorable. I loved reading about all the places in Paris, and which just encourages me more to get over there one day! The love interest, St. Clair, is charmingly funny… a good-looking guy with an English accent living in Paris. Formidable! Some of the scenarios seemed a bit contrived (can’t they just catch a break!?) but overall the story is extremely cute and it was a nice, quick, fun book to break up all the lengthy ones I’ve been reading lately. I’d definitely recommend it for a fun beach read!

  1. I really enjoy books set in Paris! Maybe I should give this one a look?

  2. Another book to add to my ‘to read’ list. I’m reading Room now! I should be done it within the next few days! :)
