Top Ten Swoon-Worthy Bad Boys in Books

I skipped a couple weeks, but today it seems its a freebie topic day, so I decided to pick this one! (especially since I had posted just last week about favourite fictional bad boys!) I didn’t intentionally start making this list with the same theme as my previous post of “bad boys with a heart of gold”, but it looks like it turned out that way. What can I say, I love a bad boy with some hidden goodness inside!

  1. Draco Malfoy | Harry Potter series <– By far my favourite literary bad boy. He’s the main reason why I have Slytherin pride. (That, plus I look better in green & silver than red & gold)
  2. Adrian Ivashkov | The Golden Lily <– To be honest, didn’t really notice him much in the first Bloodlines book. It wasn’t until the sequel in this Richelle Mead series that I really took a lot of notice to this guy!
  3. Eric Northman | Sookie Stackhouse series <– Sheriff of Area 5 in Louisiana, he’s a bad boy in the books and on TV.
  4. Will | Clockwork Angel <– Love him… <3
  5. Alex Fuentes | Perfect Chemistry <– Member of a gang, bets with his buddies to hook up with a proper rich girl.. sounds pretty bad boy to me.
  6. V | V For Vendetta – He’s a bad boy in the eyes of the corrupt government, but I loved this graphic novel, loved this movie and loved this vigilante!
  7. Warner | Shatter Me <– While I didn’t initially see the hottie appeal of Warner, he seems to have garnered quite a fan base! Definitely see the potential there.
  8. Peter | Divergent series <– I have a love/hate feeling for this guy… more hate than love, really, but there were moments in Insurgent where I didn’t dislike him!
  9. Daemon | Obsidian <– The first book I read with a hot bad boy alien!
  10. Chuck Bass | Gossip Girl series <– Admittedly I’ve only read the first 7 or so from this series, and it’s more the TV show that’s influencing my choice – but you can’t deny that he is the bad boy of the Upper East Side!

And of course, what made your Top 10 list this week? Share your link and I’ll check it out too!

  1. Great list!! But dude, Daemon is mine!! Lol!!

  2. You got to love bad boys. I have a particular fascination with the bad boys that you’re not supposed to like and yet do. So I’m sure if I read Obsidian I would claim Daemon for myself. I’ve been dying to read that one. Thanks for the reminder to go track it down.

  3. Great list! Such a weakness for me. Every book needs a good bad boy!

  4. I love Eric Northman! Great list :o)
And I didn’t realize that Adrian was in the Bloodlines series. He’s also in the Vampire Academy series. I’ll have to check out Bloodlines I guess.
    Ugh I HATE Warner. LOL… but I guess it’s a love-to-hate kind of relationship.

Ooh I loved Adrian in the Vampire Academy series – I haven’t read any of the Bloodlines series yet though.

  7. Emily Grace says:

I love Draco, Warner, & Peter! :) Well, I love hating them :P -Emily @ Emily Hearts Books

  8. I do love a good bad boy! Somehow, they’re a lot more attractive (in real life too, sadly) than the good boy. I’m trying to change that mindset in myself! :P

  10. …I’m Chuck Bass.
    *swoon*

And Adrian is like the only reason I was unhappy about the VA series.. team Adrian forever and ever.

  11. Yes for Adrian and Will!!! :) Total swoon-worthy! I’ve only seen the TV shows for Gossip Girl and True Blood, but I agree with those ones, too — Chuck and Eric are both awesome.

    Great picks!

  12. Aimee @ Penmanship Smitten says:

Draco’s one of my favorite fictional bad boys too. Though I also really love Tom Felton, so I’m not really sure where my love for the character ends and my love for the actor portraying him begins…

And I loved Alex from Perfect Chemistry! I wasn’t sure at first how I’d feel about him, but he won me over really fast.

I haven’t seen Gossip Girl in a while, but from what I remember about the first two seasons, Chuck Bass was awesome. As was his pretty scarf.

I’ll definitely have to check out the other books on this list (since I have no idea who these characters are). Though Shatter Me and Divergent are sitting on my bookshelf right now…

    Great list!

  13. Melissa @ Writer Grrl Reads says:

Awesome list! Totally agree with you on Draco — I remember taking my little sister to see the third movie in the theater, and she came out of the movie positively drooling over Draco =P

  14. Warner! Talk about your ultimate creepy sociopath with inexplicable attraction. I mean, seriously! He’s evil all over the place, but there were times when I was rooting for him. I wonder what this says about me…
