Hurray! One of the few awards shows that I enjoy watching.. mostly because I’ve seen way too much TV and not enough movies, so Oscars are not as interesting for me. As I had posted my nominees pick back in July, I’m back with the winners – and to see how I did with my selections!
The opening segment was bizarre… with only a few funny moments (like the reality TV hosts popping up, and Ellen’s cameo) it was a really weird concept to have Jimmy in the women’s washroom. Coupled with the audio feed issues, it wasn’t off to a great start. The first real funny moment was the “Year in Comedy” montage and the Modern Family “Lily” terror segment was pretty good. Also loved Josh Groban singing One Direction as an In Memoriam to Jimmy Kimmel. Awesome.
Did I mention the audio problems? 45 minutes of it. That got tiresome real fast. You couldn’t even hear who they were announcing as the nominees and winners. The loudest part of the whole broadcast was the applause!
As I had mentioned in my picks post, this was quite the lengthy nominations list so I’ve only kept the major categories or ones that are of interest to me. Overall, though, this year’s Emmys were pretty meh. I could’ve done with not watching it.
Who were you rooting for?
UNDERLINE = who I wanted to win
ITALICS = who I thought would win
Bold = who actually won

Ooh, thanks for the list! I didn’t even know the Emmys were on recently! That’s how horrendously out of touch I am, LOL. I do enjoy seeing who won, though. Even if I don’t agree with most of them.

I was actually not very entertained by the Emmy’s this year because I watch like none of those shows. Love your side comment about The Penguins of Madagascar, but I assure you, that show is actually really cute and funny. I watch it sometimes even when my daughter isn’t in the room. I am surprised at the Two and a Half Men awards. I tried to watch the first episode with Ashton Kutcher on it and couldn’t do it. It was super lame. Great recap post chick!!
