The 33rd International Festival of Authors

Tomorrow begins the 33rd annual International Festival of Authors (or, IFOA) at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto. 11 days of celebrating the written word with many talented and celebrated authors. Other than the publishing round tables & book signings which are free, the events at the festival are all ticketed, with more information and ability to purchase over on readings.org.

I have not attended an IFOA event before, and am thinking about going for the first time this year. There are some great panels and authors I would love to see & perhaps get my books signed. Plus, the Harbourfront Centre is such a nice venue (and underused, in my opinion) to have this event.

Anyone else going this year? Have you been in the past?

  1. It’s crazy how many awesome events you have in your area. There are a few around here, but not that many. Hope you have a blast!!

  2. Honestly, I’ve never gone to IFOA because it’s very adult-lit focused, and that kind of annoys me a bit. They have the capacity to get some really stellar YA and New Adult authors, and they never do…

That said, it would be fun to meet Michael Chabon. =p
