What made me swoon this past week?
When I saw a gorgeous display at Starbucks one morning and wanted the limited edition designer tumbler mug right away. There was one left, and I would have bought it but my sister gave me a hard time when I bought the little ornaments for myself already. Apparently it’s “so close to Christmas” that I shouldn’t buy stuff for myself that they might get for me! (But I didn’t want to chance them NOT getting it and I miss out on the one year for my collection!!)
So. I asked my sister to look for it but she couldn’t find any in her nearby Starbucks shops. I went back to my morning one and the one they had was gone! 🙁 The kind manager & baristas at my usual morning location offered to save me one when they got more but in the end, I was so excited to have found one when out with a friend yesterday that I grabbed it up quick. Score!!! 😎 (Lo and behold, there may have been a reason it was the only one left. I got home and only then noticed that the lid was all ripped up. 🙁 Hopefully I can exchange or get a replacement lid…) but nonetheless.. look how pretty!!! There’s sporadic squares that are shiny silver, among the grey and green!
Not that I don’t have enough Starbucks mugs as it is (ie. my country mugs collection, and my former Christmas mugs collection that I forced myself to stop collecting…. because it was getting out of hand…) but I just loved the design on this one. To me, it reminded me of a very artsy, industrial look. pixelated, almost like Pantone colour-blocks. It wasn’t until my friend showed me what Rodarte‘s usual designs are like that I realized just how different it was to this Starbucks limited edition. This was definitely my swoon-worthy obsession for the week.
Now, I’m going to be obsessed with getting a proper, not-broken lid! Obsessed no more! Exchanged for a good one at the store… yay 😀
