Recap: Kat Kruger’s The Night Has Teeth Book Launch Party

KKtnht_header

On a relatively mild & rainy January evening over on Queen Street West in Toronto, Kat Kruger was hosting her launch party for The Night Has Teeth at Type Books. I met up with Steph & Elissa from Paper Droids over there shortly after 6 (and was thrilled to finally meet Elissa, the entertainment editor for PD, where I’m also a contributor)

It was such a nice, intimate atmosphere where we all had the chance to really chat with Kat about the book and other things (such as  True Blood being “believable” until the introduction of the fairies, where we were all in agreement was NOW too weird.) To that effect, Kat says that her trilogy will not deviate into all the different kinds of “characters” like vampires and fairies. It will stay with the werewolves throughout. The second book, however, won’t be entirely in Paris. The story also will travel to Germany as well. At this point, Steph wanted to ask more spoilery questions about the book, so Elissa and I wandered off to explore the rest of the store while they talked.

I believe Kat might have been planning to read an excerpt from her book, but with all the attendees arriving and wanting to get their books signed and have time to chat with her, the 2 hours quickly slipped by. I had already bought a copy beforehand but picked up a second one to get signed and give away for Paris Month, so stay tuned for that in April!

Thanks to Type Books, Fierce Ink Press & Kat Kruger for a lovely evening!

  1. I love when book signings are more intimate. I have been to a few book signings where there was just a small group and it was easy to just chat and not be so formal about it. Great recap. It sounds like you had a good time.
