I can’t believe I’ve already done so many SwS posts… this is my 30th one already! So given the recent news of an exciting upcoming concert, and the 3rd ever Swoon-Worthy Sundays post was about boyband nostalgia, this week I’m swooning over The Package tour.
In all honesty, even though New Kids on the Block was big for my generation, I wasn’t into mainstream Top 40 boyband pop music until the Backstreet Boys & Boyz II Men. So while NKOTB are possibly considered the headliners for this concert tour, my sister and I more excited about seeing Boyz II Men and 98 Degrees. So excited that I got us tickets during the Facebook presale on Wednesday with some great seats in the lower level section (although I’m still kicking myself for passing on the first search results I got, which were 6th row but in the extreme side of the stage). Apparently that wasn’t sufficient for my sister because she showed me links afterwards to upgrade our tickets to a VIP package for either Boyz II Men or 98 Degrees where we could get a photo-op, meet & greet, concert tee, etc. So guess who’s going to live out her nostalgic teenybopper dream on June 7th and getting to meet Nick, Drew, Jeff & Justin???? 😎 So. Excited.
I’ve seen Boyz II Men once, many years ago when they were performing at Casino Rama in Orillia. Their album Cooleyhighharmony was the first CD I had ever purchased and their radio hit I’ll Make Love To You was my favourite song for the longest time when I was young. Imagine the awkwardness of belting out that song when you’re in 7th grade, not really knowing what it all meant. 0_0
What might have made it even more nostalgically epic? BSB and N Sync with these guys. Amazing. Cannot wait for June!
I definitely must thank Lindsey @ Random House for tweeting an amazing announcement about this. 😀
