I’ve been in a really big Kate Spade kick over the last little while. I’ve always liked the accessories from this designer brand but not until late 2011 when Jenn @ Writer’s Block took me to the flagship store in NYC did I really fall for all the classy-yet-quirky designs. I think my interest in certain brands have grown and evolved as I’ve gotten older and my style has changed. I used to really love the funky look of Juicy and even picked up a few items before but I’ve definitely started to turn more towards the chic and classy style the likes of Kate Spade or Marc Jacobs.
While on our reading retreat last weekend, Chandra (@sakuralovestea) spotted a book that I didn’t even know existed. Kate Spade’s Things We Love. OMG. This hardcover book is full of pages and pages of colourful & beautiful things. If it wasn’t so darn big and heavy to lug home, I would have probably picked it up for sure! (Available at: Book Depository | Amazon)
Brenna (Esther’s Ever After) and fellow Kate Spade fan shared a link a few weeks ago to a pre-sale at Fab.com on Kate Spade’s new (affordable) line called Kate Spade Saturday – which officially launches in March. Definitely found some things I wanted, but it’s always a tough call with online shopping in Canada… whether the more “affordable” prices after all the shipping, taxes & duty makes it still worthwhile.
Luckily, the first Kate Spade New York store opened up in Toronto just before the holidays at Yorkdale Mall and I’ve only braved heading to that busy shopping centre once since then. There were so many adorable items that I wanted to pick up. So many classic-yet-trendy items that was begging me to give it a good home! I’ve been eyeing some of the purses, but moreso the wallets and tech accessories. A bummer that there are only phone cases for the ones I don’t have (ie. Android!)
So while that book is called “Things We Love”, here are some of the Kate Spade things that I love and am swooning over!
Starting from the top left corner, going clockwise: Barrow Street Anabel handbag | Skinny Mini Bow Bangle | Pop Art Check Umbrella | Favorite Things iPhone 5 Case | Goreski Glasses Ring | Mondrian Bon Shopper Handbag | Girl About Town Scarf | Romeo & Juliet Book Clutch | Catherine Street Stripe Louise Handbag | Hope Avenue Jesslyn Clutch
While compiling that collage, I realized even moreso why I seem to swoon over this brand – there’s so many elements of their style that I love, and currently wear. Lots of stripes and solid colours, quirky/cute accessories. Those who know me can probably see that. 😛 Love it all!
