Happy Victoria Day long weekend to my fellow Canadians! After attending last week’s TCAF, I’ve been on another graphic novel kick. What good comics and graphic novels have you read recently?
This Past Week on Just a Lil’ Lost…
- Reviews of two books that have been pushed for fans of Gone Girl: Herman Koch’s The Dinner (it was ok..) and Paula Daly’s Just What Kind of Mother Are You? (it was FANTASTIC.)
- Recap of last Saturday’s Toronto Comic Arts Festival (TCAF)!
- I also saw The Great Gatsby on Monday.. so look out for my review on Paper Droids soon!
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell | For read & review from publisher via Netgalley. Super excited for this since I LOVED Eleanor & Park. Definitely a new Rainbow Rowell fan!
Tune, Book 2: Still Life by Derek Kirk Kim | For read & review from publisher via Netgalley. I enjoyed the first Book of Tune, so excited to check out this one!
The Cute Girl Network by MK Reed | For read & review from publisher via Netgalley
Fairy Tale Comics: Classic Tales Told by Extraordinary Cartoonists by Various authors | For read & review from publisher via Netgalley. Saw them tweet about the excitement with this book earlier in the week. Looks great!
Night Film by Marisha Pessl | For read & review from publisher. SO excited for this. Night Film & Just What Kind of Mother Are You? were on the top of my list from RHC’s blogger preview!
Inferno (Robert Langdon, #4) by Dan Brown | Bought it on release day as part of #InfernoAtIndigo, and it was only $15!
Also picked up A Paris Sketchbook by Jason Brooks, which I had learned about when looking for books to feature for Paris Month. Love the illustrations in it! and of course a Paris notebook that was on sale.. I couldn’t resist 😳 (I already put back a matching little notepad!)
And was gifted this lovely swag bag at the Indigo Member Night on Thursday! Maclean’s magazine, gorgeous notecards and a beautiful vase (in a lovely purple tote!)
Thanks for stopping by! 😎
