Launching this month is the inaugural issue of Inaccurate Realities, the brainchild project of three good friends and fellow book bloggers. Christa (More Than Just Magic), Sara (Geek Girl’s Book Blog) and Andrea (Cozy Up With a Good Read) revealed earlier this year with an Indiegogo campaign that they were starting a literary magazine focusing on YA speculative fiction when they noticed a significant lack of YA short fiction in the market. Each quarterly issue welcomes submissions from writers of all ages and features a set theme.
The first issue’s theme is Fear, and the creepily awesome cover was revealed last week across the blogsophere. The magazine will be available for purchase October 20, 2013 via multiple platforms both electronically and print version. (Links to come later) and if you’re attending the Ontario Blogger Meet-Up, there just might be some issues there available for you to buy and support the magazine!
Fear will feature 5 short stories that were personally curated and selected by the editors, interviews with authors Gretchen McNeil, Kendare Blake and Katie Alender as well as reviews of the new releases from Madeleine Roux, Kami Garcia and the king of YA thrillers himself, R.L. Stine.
Want more? Inaccurate Realities is having a launch party at Bakka Phoenix in Toronto on Saturday, November 9 to celebrate this exciting occasion!
