I can’t believe I watched through all of season 2 in three days over the holidays. I am officially obsessed. As I did with season one, here is my one-liners post as I watched through this second season. SPOILER WARNING!
1. In My Time of Dying
Holy emotional episode. A lot of the scenes seem pretty theatrical, like it could be a monologue from a play. Very powerful. Especially without a lot of special effects.
2. Everybody Loves a Clown
What crazy little girl would be excited at the sight of some freaky-looking sad clown and let them in!?
Haha I just noticed that Sam and Dean have the same sauntering walk.. looks hilarious when they’re walking together down an alley. And look! They have True Blood kinda vampires too! “We don’t drink human blood.”
4. Children Shouldn’t Play with Dead Things
Oh, that’s deep.. I actually didn’t see that coming with Dean turning it back around to his own situation.
5. Simon Said
Why is Tracy so upset about the suggestions to kill herself? Everyone else that was mind controled were happy to do it.
6. No Exit
Jo, the bartender daughter looks so familiar. She’s apparently from Veronica Mars but I think she looks more like Jodi from Center Stage. A bit disappointed that after her big deal with Dean about girls not being able to do it that she ended up needing the guys to save her afterall. I totally thought the mom was gonna tell Jo that John was her father!
7. The Usual Suspects
Funny Dean and Sam banter about who would be Scully, the format of this episode with the interrogation & flashbacks reminds me of one of my fave X-Files episodes that’s set up in a similar way, “Bad Blood”
8. Crossroad Blues
Aahaha “What’s MySpace?” I’m trying to even think back when this episode originally aired if Myspace was still relevant even then..
Haha.. “that’s not school, thats Schoolhouse Rock!”
Aww he has a psychic gal pal… or not. And I stand corrected. After 1.5 seasons, Sam finally is the one to come in and rescue Dean rather than vice versa, as I previously stated during season 1’s one-liners.
Well played. Room 237 at the inn. Nice nod to The Shining. “He loves dolls”.. hahaha.. “You look the type of antiquers”.
After so many robberies, you’d think the security guy would be a bit more careful in letting Sam and Dean in dressed up as people checking the security system?? Ron was kinda like a paranoid, conspiracy theorist Hurley (Lost) character.. even down to the looks.
13. Houses of the Holy
The angel/priest/spirit guy looks so like Noah Wyle.. I also like that the brothers witnessed things that contradicted their way of thinking.. faith vs “fact”..
14. Born Under a Bad Sign
Yeah. Good idea, Sam. Can’t remember a thing so you pick up a bloody knife in the back seat of the car with your bare hands. Knowing it’s not really him, but it’s kinda nice to see a more lively agressive side to Sam. He’s always so mellow and passive.
15. Tall Tales
Another episode like one of my fave X-Files ones.. where they both recollect a distorted version of events. With a montage in the beginning of their pranks, this was totally going to be an awesomely hilarious one.
Molly’s pretty trusting of Sam & Dean, two guys she flags down on the road after being in a car wreck, her husband’s gone and she’s chased down by a creepo ghostly stranger. Ohhhhhh well played Supernatural writers… What I thought was a regular episode has an awesome twist I didn’t see coming. Nice.
Aww Sam looks so adorable in the scenes with Madison in her apartment.. shy, uncomfortable and blushing Sam. And HOLY ARMS on Sammy!! Wow. His quiet demeanor was hiding that under his tee & jacket all this time?
18. Hollywood Babylon
How very meta.. a show within a show. I love that Dean’s diggin’ the PA job.
19. Folsom Prison Blues
Another good twisty episode.
20. What Is and What Should Never Be
The synopsis for this Djinn episode sounded weird but it’s actually a really good, and hilarious/emotional, Dean episode.
21. All Hell Breaks Loose: Part 1
Ash!! Wow, Sam and the gang are like in some super powers Hunger Games arena…
22. All Hell Breaks Loose: Part 2
AWESOME finale. That ending in the cemetary.. the looks on the guys’ faces.. although, a bit of a snub for Pops to single out Dean and then back away without having a moment with Sam.. Pleasantly surprised the finale didn’t end with a crazy cliffhanger as many shows do.
The writers definitely kicked it up a notch for the second half of this season. So many mindbending twists in a lot of the episodes! And very death-centric for the main characters.. more personal than just fighting the dead.
