Jennifer Adams, with the illustrations of Alison Oliver, turn classic reads into educational books for young children. In The Secret Garden, colourful pages are adorned with one sentence featuring a flower, and the accompanying page highlighting just the flower it is referring to. Taglined as “A Flowers Primer”, the large drawings of the flowers and its vibrant colours will help to teach kids how to identify these beautiful plants.
With Don Quixote, a Spanish Language Primer, the book highlights simple words from the familiar story and shows the translation on the accompanying page. This book would be great for those who would like their child to learn some basic words from the Spanish language such as friend, man, lady and books.
The two featured here aren’t all. Adams and Oliver have a whole collection of different “primers” for young readers starring other classic tales. Everything from counting to colours, and more!
