This year for Paris Month, I asked some of my wonderful blogger friends to share with me what their favourite Paris book was and why! Last week, Marie & Jenn stopped by and this Sunday I’d like to welcome Jaclyn & Tiff!

My favourite Paris books I’ve enjoyed recently happen to be “Cats in Paris” and “Paris Street Style.” I discovered both adult colouring books at a Penguin Random House Canada event and fell in love with the whimsical illustrations of “Cats in Paris” and beautiful look of “Paris Street Style.”
Paris has always seemed to be a city of magic and high fashion, so sprinkle in some cats, clothes and coloured pencils, and these books are just a delightful way to take part in that magic myself.

My favorite Paris book is also my favorite YA book: Just One Day by Gayle Forman. While it’s not totally set in Paris, the most important part of it is, and that’s the day that strangers Allyson and Willem spend together, creating an adventure and magic between themselves and the city.
What I love about this one day together is that they never really end up seeing super touristy parts of Paris – it’s just them stopping for food at a random cafe, wandering neighbourhoods, and learning each other with the backdrop of Paris. That’s the Paris I like – the one where the city just exists with the possibility of magic – but it’s up to you to find it. Even though I haven’t ever had a love affair in Paris as Allyson and Willem do, or even the same feeling about the city as Michele does, Gayle Forman’s Paris is the one I dream of and hold in my heart.
Thank you Jaclyn and Tiff for stopping by today!
